Pochaiv Lavra sends relics of Sts. Job and Amphilochius to US monastery
The Monastery of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God in the United States welcomed a reliquary containing relics of Sts. Job and Amphilochius of Pochaiv.
The Pochaiv Dormition Lavra has donated a reliquary containing relics of Sts. Job and Amphilochius of Pochaiv to the Monastery of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God in North Port, Florida, according to the monastery's website.
The reliquary was received with great solemnity by the monastery's monks and parishioners, many of whom are Ukrainian refugees or originally from Pochaiv. The gift consists of an elaborately decorated wooden casket featuring a painted icon of the two saints, with small reliquaries containing fragments of their relics set into it.
Archimandrite Stefan (Khilchuk), abbot of the Florida monastery, and the monastic brotherhood expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Metropolitan Volodymyr (Moroz), abbot of the Pochaiv Lavra, and the entire Lavra brotherhood for their prayerful support and fraternal friendship.
Five years ago, the Pochaiv Lavra also donated cloths bearing an image of the footprint of the Mother of God to the North Port monastery. The brotherhood also expressed special thanks to laymen Ihor and Stefan, who helped transport the reliquary to the United States.
As the UOJ previously reported, a relic of St. Arsenius the Great was brought to the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
