UOC starts Easter charity drive to support children of displaced families
The UOC has launched a charity initiative: 2,000 Easter kulichi will be delivered to children from displaced families, to orphans and boarding-school pupils, and to families in front-line regions.
On March 4, 2026, the Social Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church announced the start of an Easter charity campaign under which it plans to bake and distribute around 2,000 Easter kulichi for children from vulnerable categories. The Social Department of the UOC reported the initiative.
The campaign is being held with the blessing of the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine. The Church’s Social Department invited everyone willing to take part in the traditional charitable initiative dedicated to the Feast of the Resurrection of Christ.
The aim of the campaign, “An Easter Gift for Children,” is to support those under the care of the UOC Social Department. In particular, assistance is planned for more than 700 children from displaced families, as well as for residents of six boarding schools and rehabilitation centers.
In addition, Easter gifts will be provided to families living in front-line areas and in Kherson Region. The statement notes that many children will celebrate Pascha far from home and under difficult life circumstances.
To carry out the campaign, the organizers need to raise about 120,000 hryvnias. Fundraising for the initiative will run through April 5, 2026.
As the UOJ previously reported, a UOC humanitarian mission delivered aid to Kherson and Donetsk regions.
